Subsurface Utility Engineering Field Position

Wolverton & Associates is looking to fill Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) position for its Duluth, Georgia location.  Only qualified candidates who meet the following requirements for the positions will be given consideration.   Qualified candidates should be prepared to share their salary expectations and professional references if contacted regarding the positions.

                  

The successful candidate must have 5+ years of SUE/ utility locating experience in a high production and safety conscience environment with a proven ability to effectively manage field personnel.   Qualified candidates must also have the ability to responsibly perform and operate independently, when required. Qualified candidates will also have the proven ability to responsibly and accurately use SUE data and equipment with an advanced knowledge of electromagnetic locating equipment, Ground Penetrating Radar, procedures and methods of production.  Proven experience and track record in designating/locating all utilities is required.  Qualified candidates must be willing and prepared to travel on an as needed basis.  Experience with surveying procedures is highly preferred.

 

 

Additional job functions for SUE Field positions include, but are not limited to:

 

·         Designation of underground utilities using a variety of equipment, utility records and plans

·         Maintains and operates electromagnetic locating equipment and ground penetrating radar

·         Excavation of utility test holes using air/vacuum equipment and/or hand tools

·         Operates and maintains company vehicles

·         Complies and assists with all safety policies and procedures

·         Assists technicians with troubleshooting complex utility designation problems

·         Stocks adequate supplies such as paint, batteries and pin flags in the SUE company vehicle at all times

·         Assists the Project Manager in performing weekly equipment checks and/or inventories

·         Assists the Project Manager with the continued training of less experienced staff, as needed

 

 

High school diploma or equivalent is required plus at least 5+ years of Subsurface Utility Engineering / Utility Locating field experience.
